Who of you ever lied on your field service reports?
by Julia Orwell ini've read a few people mention making up the figures for the field service reports, and i want to find out how common it is.

sometimes i'd round up 15 minutes if i'd mentioned jw stuff to my brother that month, but that wasn't falsifying.

They read off the names of those auxilliary pioneering; 75% of them don't work &
by Theocratic Sedition inhalf of that 75% get disability and ssi checks.
it was kinda funny sitting there listening to them go down the line, name by name, of the ones auxilliary pioneering since the numbers are dropped to 30 hours for march & april.
as they were doing the names i was saying to myself, "she don't work", "she supposedly can't work", "he hasn't worked in years", "she gets a check", "she's probably gonna lie about the amount of hours she did" etc.. gotta love it.. i don't know if this happens in your congregation or not, but have you ever heard someone remark about someone else behind their back, "she can show up at every gathering, but she can't show up for field service!

Indirectly they are encouraging to rather pioneer than to look after employment. Some countries don't take this attitude lightly. Their (un)employment agencies are geared up to get you working again at any cost so you will not burden the general public.
To insinuate that taking any first job coming your way may not be the best choice, as the WTBTS has done, is plain wrong, and it is certainly not what the unemployed has vouched to do when signing up with an employment agency.
It will create a lackadaisical attitude . . . . they rather will go pioneer.

Elders Call Off Meetings A Lot More Easily Than They Did Before For Inclement Weather
by minimus inthe meetings were cancelled in this area with only 2 inches of snow for the "storm''.
lol.
a month ago the co had the meeting cancelled because it was a bit tracherous, which i thought was a good call..... years`ago, if we cancelled a meeting it took until one hour before the presiding overseer would finally decide to cancel.. today's jws are wimps..

They announce plenty of meetings for field service before, during, and after the COs service week just to look industrious. At least half of them get canceled (text messaging) by the elders after the CO is gone due to a lack of time to oversee them.
Anyway, it makes them look good though with the CO. Quite some players, the elders.

How Could Jesus Be A Perfect Human When...?
by OneStepOut93 inhow could jesus have been a perfect human on earth if he was born from mary?
doesn't thewatchtower believe since we are all sons and daughters of adam and eve, that we are all genetically imperfect?
so if mary also came from adam and eve like the rest of us but gave birth to jesus then wouldn't jesus have been born imperfectlike the rest of us?.

. . . don't know what to think of it - just saw this on their WT library:
Scientifically Possible?
Reproduction without a male is known as parthenogenesis [Greek, parthenos meaning “maiden” plus “genesis”]. Recently scientists have been experimenting successfully with parthenogenesis in mammals. The Economist of August 1, 1981, reports: “Embryo development in the absence of sperm is the natural means of reproduction in many lower species of animal. . . . Parthenogenesis is being studied using laboratory mice. Several means exist for artificially activating an unfertilised mouse egg.”
Similarly, Dr. M. B. V. Roberts of Marlborough College, England, writes: “An unfertilized egg was removed from a female rabbit, activated by pricking, and then popped back into the uterus. Hormone treatment had been previously given to the female so that her uterine mucosa was prepared for implantation. Normal development ensued, and a visibly normal offspring was produced.”
Are we to conclude from this that God induced Mary’s pregnancy in some such way from an unfertilized egg? No. From the accompanying chart, you can see why. If Mary’s firstborn had received both chromosomes (X) from her, the offspring would of necessity have been female.
Hence, something more must have been involved in the conception of Jesus. Just what this was the angel explained to Joseph: “That which has been begotten in her is by holy spirit.” (Matthew 1:20) We do not know precisely how this was done. Yet we must admit that if mere man can in a limited way manipulate the fertilization process in the laboratory, surely it is not beyond the power of the Creator and Life-Giver of the universe to do so and to transfer the life-force of his Son from the heavens to the ovum of a virgin girl.
[Diagram on page 5]
A female’s egg contains two X chromosomes. The male sperm cell has an X and a Y. Each parent provides one chromosome. If two X’s combine, a girl is produced. If an X and a Y, the child will be male.
Laboratory-induced parthenogenesis causes a female egg to divide and grow, so the result (XX) must be a female.
Such a type of parthenogenesis could not have occurred with Mary, for her firstborn (Jesus) was a male. Since she was a virgin, the Y chromosome must have been supplied miraculously, as the Bible indicates.

How does the WTS mine quotes for their "scholarly inspired" articles ?
by mP inive seen a few threads discussing misquotations, including the quote about roman times taken from a book of fiction.
apologies but i cant recall the author or the book mentioned but im sure others will know what im talking about .. so how many books do they read to find these quotes ?
they must b e buying a lot of apostate books just to find a worthy quote.

Their reasoning on "quote mining" is a joke on the rest of mankind.
"The WTBTS does not like blogs or poorly documented Web entries written by unidentified or unqualified persons. For example, Wikipedia, an online encyclopedia, warns that some articles on its own site “contain significant misinformation, unencyclopedic content, or vandalism,” adding that “users need to be aware of this.”
Thus, the Writing Department looks to standard reference works, articles written by recognized experts, and books produced by respected publishers."

Those gruesome stories are taught as face value stories just as what the adults learn in their Theocratic Ministry School.
And that's exactly how they will go about inculcating a yougster's mind during Family Worship™ night.
Don't be mistaken - connecting the dots will have a lasting effect on young minds, and hell, not for the better!
Here is what the instructions book has to say:
"Another suggestion is to try to visualize what you read, making mental pictures as an aid to memory. In imagination see the actors and the background, hear the sounds and voices, smell the odors, taste the food and drink, share the happiness or grief of a situation. Try to put yourself in the scene being described. Every sense can be brought into play imaginatively to reproduce vividly the Bible account. Passages of Bible history can be more easily committed to mind in this way." sg study 4 p. 23 par. 15 How to Read and Remember
